England play South Africa tomorrow in what amounts to a World Cup quarter final even though we are still in the Super Eight stage of the competition. Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka have already cemented their semi-final places and whichever team wins tomorrow’s encounter will look to have snatched the fourth and final spot.
I am beginning to have a sneaky feeling for England tomorrow, not because the way we are playing but I think more pressure is on South Africa having been co-favourites at one time. The expectations on them, both from their press, their supporters and not least themselves will be massive.
Like England, South Africa have flattered to deceive over the last month and I believe that if England can win the toss, see off the first ten over’s without too much damage wicket wise, they can post a total that will put enough pressure on the South Africans, on a wearing wicket for us to come out victorious.
This will be my game plan, let’s hope our bigger players can come to the fore and in two days time we can be eyeing a semi-final spot. Good luck lads.
