Marcus Hails Progress In Mental Illness Fight

Marcus Trescothick attended the London launch of a campaign to end discrimination against people with mental health problems.

The reception was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, and other celebrities there included Tony Blair’s former spin doctor Alastair Campbell, and TV presenter Fiona Phillips and Trisha Goddard.

The event marked the achievements of the ambitious Time to Change programme, run by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems.

Marcus said: "Time to Change has done an amazing job at challenging the stigma that surrounds mental health problems. The reception is credit to this programme and I hope we can continue to work together to ensure more people are able to speak out about their mental illness, just like I did."
